Initiatives

TheOtherSchool collective designs and implements dissemination science projects through the creation of spaces for commons-based alternatives. The following initiatives have been established with the support of TheOtherSchool collective:

  • Tzoumakers: a rural community makerspace to promote technology sovereignty in mountainous communities.
  • Commonen: a self-producting energy cooperative to promote energy justice.
  • Kopli 93: an urban community makerspace to help localise production in a sustainable and inclusive way.
  • Citizens for Open Technology: a citizen initiative to promote proposals for more sustainable and inclusive science and technology parks.
  • Nyamdrel Zo’Sa: a rural community makerspace in Bhutan to promote technology sovereignty in mountainous and isolated communities.
  • Fab City Foundation: an advocacy foundation to help relocalising production to the city and its bioregional context.
  • AnotherFootball: a collective to harness football as a shared experience, engaging players, trainers and fans in envisioning a commons-based future.
